Welcome to our mini series where we cover our favorite players from each position! Today we will look at the defensive interiors from this class. Remember this doesn’t feature the best players from their positions, just guys who we think are fun to watch. #1 Ed Oliver, Houston Strengths: Explosiveness, elite against run, very good pass rusher, unbelievable upside. Weaknesses: nothing noticeable Summary: Ed Oliver is unbelievable, and if it wasn’t for Quinnen Williams he would absolutely be considered as the best player in this draft class. Ed Oliver is going to be a franchise defining player on any defense he goes to. #2 Dexter Lawerence, Clemson Strengths: Elite run stopper, very good at tackling in general, strength. Weaknesses: Not very explosive, liability in pass rush, slow, late season suspension. Summary: I really like Dexter Lawrence is a run stopper. On short down situations there’s a really good chance Lawerence will clog up the run. He’s easily one of the best at run stopping in this class, and someone will likely take a chance on him because of that. #3 Dre’mont Jones, Ohio State Strengths: Good pass rusher, pretty fast for an interior defenseman, solid explosiveness. Weaknesses: Not great against the run Summary: Dre’mont Jones is overall a solid player. He makes a lot of really exciting plays, so that’s definitely going to boost his draft stock up. I think he could end up being a solid starter at the next level. NOTE: I’m double posting today to make up for not posting yesterday ❤️ And that’s it for today’s post.
