“Momentary Musings” with Gary Edward Geraci Q. Why did you choose to minimize the use of punctuation in your poem “Candy anyone?”? A. In a moment of narcissism, of which I have many, unfortunately, I wanted to work and develop my “Geracian Spew”: free verse in long sentence form, of which I learned from the great American poet Allen Ginsberg (“Howl”). I also wanted to insert one, very deliberate pause, to break the rhythm of the spew, where it mattered the most, after invoking God’s name: Emmanuel.
