record of an audio journey. //ATH M40X - early 2017. cant miss the huge audio technica logo in the top right. my ath iems had conked out, was looking for a replacement, and got these from stereo. solid cans for the price, with good detail and build. //Soundmagic E30 - late 2017. the white ones, top right.got hit by the reality that lugging the M40x just wasnt working out on crowded commutes. so went down to the nice, cosy e1pa bar and got these. the same sort of openness as the E3000, but with more laid back vocals and over-ear strain relief, at a lower price. though ofc as u can see its starting to fray. really unique, esp with its looks. fantastic daily driver. //Final Heaven II - early 2018. for the longest time i was contemplating final, ever since having my curiosity piqued by the "heaven" in the name. the sheer audacity yknow. classy yet not corny, esp cos it delivers. finally tried em at jaben, got blown away, and got em together with the Adagios for a slight discount. Initially was the black jaben edition, but those wonked out after a few months so i got these silver bois. No noticeable diff in sound for me. // Final Adagio II - early 2018. Heavens are about the highs n mids, the Adagio are straight up bass cannons. Just pair really well. Had read about them before, and after trying them i mean, its great. Put on electronica and you're basically in the club already standing by the woofer. And so for the longest time i was switching between tge e30 (neutral), heaven (highs, details), and adagio (fun bass). // Final E1000 - late 2018. at this time the e30s were getting quite beat up, and the E1000 had come out anyways, and after trying em at e1, just had to get em. theyre just worth it, if not for the sound then for the final E tips :) but really also because im just a final fan ㄟ(ツ)ㄏ still going strong as daily drivers, shoved in pockets and all over // Sony XBA 100 - early 2019. Sony's xba series is kinda legendary, and the xba 100 is a rare find nowadays, so when i saw it at an it fair at a big discount (40 vs srp 100 bucks) just had to get it. the brass housing is just gorgeous too. soundwise a step below the heavens, fuzzy highs, weaker bass.
