Visiting any shrine requires some basic understanding of the etiquette in Japan. Meiji shrine behind Harajuku is an example of an amazing site in Tokyo. In today's video, I want to give you at least three things to consider about what to do when you visit a shrine including: 1. Passing through Torii Gates. 2. Purifying yourself using the waters at the courtyard. 3. The ritual of providing a small offering. All of these will help at least further your understanding and of course, be one step closer to being part of the local culture.
