I read that GRATITUDE is the antidote to anxiety and fear. Everyday since, I end my day writing down at least 1 thing. I am lucky. I have many things in my life I know I should be grateful for, but when you’re going through the thick of it, sometimes you only see the things you’ve lost. So this nightly routine is a way for me to stay connected to the truth that my life is not defined by one moment, one breakup, or one (or 10 😜) bad decisions. • I AM GRATEFUL FOR: The time and space I have to do whatever it is I want. I realized that time is a gift when I got the chance to spend it with one of my best friends @fe519 from Hawaii this week. When you’re in pain, or in denial, or just over it, finding things that take up time so your days end quicker seems like the best thing to do. Being in nursing school makes that easy to accomplish. They say time heals, and I believe that to be true only when you’re spending your time doing the things you actually want to do, with the people you want to be around. Wasting time to distract yourself, waiting for the day you start forgetting the things that happened...isn’t healing.
