I have 2 kids in primary school. Even though they are young, they are very independent in their own ways. — My proudest moment as a parent would be teaching my son how to ride a bike. He kept insisting that he could not do it because he was afraid of falling and hurting himself. Even then, he never gave up wanting to ride a bike. After a month of trying, he finally managed to ride a bike. He showed me that even though one is scared and afraid, never give up trying, and one day you’ll succeed. — My daughter is a very brave girl. She always has these nose bleeds when she wakes up in the morning. And for a young girl to experience something like that every morning, is pretty scary. The first time it happened, she did not even panic when she saw blood. She calmly walked to my wife and myself to ask for help. That was when my wife panicked instead, and I calmly helped her stop her nose from bleeding. Even taught her how to stop it herself, so she would know how to manage it when it occurs again. — What's amazing is that as a parent, you get to see things in a different perspective every single day. When your child gives you a different solution to what you have always thought is the only way, or how a cuddle is all it takes to fix an argument, or when they describe the details of an otherwise boring and simple bird's nest. I guess it's the way an adult experiences things. It is somehow different from how a kid experiences it. I am grateful to be a dad sharing the excitement & joy of all their new experiences and guiding them to overcome their fears as well as celebrating their little victories with much pride!
