#morningwisdom #theartofcreation ‘Critique by Creating’ This wonderful thought comes from the legendary #Michelangelo, one of the original #Renaissance men. Perhaps the great artist was miffed by feedback incessantly offered by those who knew little, yet claimed a lot. Maybe he was perturbed by an army of trolls who never went offline. Probably he was frustrated by the ignoble Goliaths he encountered for every #David he created. Nevertheless, there is great wisdom in those words, especially relevant for the present times. Too much time and effort is spent in latching onto the efforts of others and finding ‘shortcomings’ in them. That is always an inherently easy pursuit, very well catered to play to the crowd. It gets a few laughs and a bit of attention going one’s way. But it in no way compares to the #spiritual satisfaction of actually getting down to it and creating something out of nothing. Michelangelo seems to be saying is that one can criticize, but the best way of going about that is by bringing to life one’s own version of the same concept or idea. Think of how much the world would be a better place if people heeded that. Enough said, now get that brush going!
