. Peter Turnley in Paris. . I wish I could find the words to describe how happy content I feel when I am in Paris. It is not that I am not aware of contemporary challenges and issues that the city, and the realities of contemporary life and politics mean to the life of both the city and France. I am after all, one of the most obsessed news junkies of our times. . But, for me Paris represents now 44 years of walking on most every street of the city, with every neighborhood, café, restaurant, park, monument, all associated with a story, a moment, an encounter, a relationship, a laugh, and even a cry, that has touched and is part of my heart, profoundly. . This photograph was made by Christopher Dickey, my very close friend, and one of the most prominent and insightful writers and analysts of the world of our times. We have traveled the world together working 18 years for Newsweek, and have been friends for decades. I spent a delicious afternoon yesterday sharing a lunch with Chris, and a wonderful promenade. . I wake up in Paris today, with the sun glowing over the rooftops of Paris seen from my apartment window, and as I write this, I know a feeling of tranquility and peace, that I cherish. . With love to all. Peter . © Photograph by Christopher Dickey, March 20, 2019, Paris. . .
