It’s Wednesday everyone! That means I’m gonna talk about ace poc! First of all, I just want to clarify that I don’t personally know any asexual poc, but I have met some online in some aminos. I can name one book off the top of my head with an ace poc, and it’s Lets Talk About Love. I haven’t read it, but I’ve heard a bunch of good things about it. Regardless of that book, although there’s a bit of ace representation in media, most of it is about white ace people! There needs to be more of a variety that covers African American, Asian, American Indian, Muslim, etc. and includes their problems besides being asexual as well! More representation can’t hurt anybody, and only educate people. I can admit (not very proudly) that I am not very educated myself. It’s not my place to say what their problems are (besides racism in general), and can’t very well describe poc experiences. I can’t even imagine what a poc goes through every day, even if they were cis and hetero. Being ace and poc? Probably 10x more difficult to come to terms with. Actually, not only if they were ace, but just generally not straight. Definitely can be challenge from what I’ve read and heard. But yeah, today’s for the ace poc! If you’re wondering what the picture has to do with this, it has nothing! It’s entirely random and I will post immediately after this about my day.
