The Perdana Botanical Garden, formerly known as Taman Tasik Perdana or Lake Gardens, is situated in the Heritage Park of Kuala Lumpur. It has always been a part of the green lung of the city and has a history of over a decade. Originally created as part of a recreational park but planted with collections of tropical plants, the garden have been rehabilitated and turned into a Botanical Garden. The garden have not only botanical collections but also house features that give the visitors the ambiance of being in a tropical rainforest, despite being in the middle of a bustling metropolis. ■ HOW TO GET THERE? It is only about 10 mins away from KL Sentral via Grab. Or you can take the KTM Komuter train to the Old Kuala Lumpur station, which is about 5mins away walk to Botanical Garden. ■ TOURING TIPS: The whole area is quiet big, with alot of different areas where you can explore. Make sure to be on your most comfy shoes to walk around. There is an inexpensive tram service inside that explores the Lake Gardens and the rest of the heritage park around it. You can hop off at any stop, and hop back on the next tram that comes by.
